Friday April 19th, 7:30pm celebrated pianist Ariane Alexander-Liao will perform noted works by four modern and contemporary composers at the Philadelphia Art Alliance.

Ariane Alexander has performed as soloist and has given master-classes at both the preparatory and collegiate levels throughout the United States and the British Isles. As collaborative artist and chamber musician she has performed with notable artists including Janos Starker, Yair Kless, Angela Fuller, Tanya Reminikova and Sally O’Reilly to name a few. Until recently Dr. Alexander lived and taught in Houston where her students won numerous prizes both in and out of state and were accepted as majors in piano performance at some of the finest music schools for their collegiate studies. In the summers. she is both assistant director and piano faculty at the BRAVO! Summer String and Keyboard Institute at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Dr. Alexander received her early pianistic training at the Julliard School of Music studying with Richard Faber. She made her first appearance in recital at age 3 and was soloist with orchestra at age 12. Continuing her studies at Indiana University, the University of California at Santa Barbara, and the University of Houston Moores School of Music, she received a DMA degree in piano performance working with Abbey Simon and Horacio Gutierez.

Alexander, while performing nation wide, currently lives in Philadelphia where she teaches piano performance.
