Join artist Caroline Lathan-Stiefel for an hands-on workshop using thread, pipe cleaners and recycled materials to create an installation along the banisters of the PAA's Grand Stairway. Using multiple processes, attendees will work collaboratively to weave a colorful tapestry along the stairs. During the workshop, Lathan-Stiefel will discuss her work and the influence of botanist John Bartram on her work. Participants will also have an opportunity to create a work to take with them at the end of the workshop.

Lathan-Stiefel's work is currently featured in the first floor exhibition Greenhouse Mix. It is a site-specific textile installation inside the Wetherill Mansion inspired by Philadelphia's rich history as a center of horticulture. Greenhouse Mix comprises three distinct components: two gallery installations and a project in the grand stairway of the PAA.
